Keynote Speaker at the Academy of Liberal Arts (ALA) 4th Annual Symposium

Given Abou Oaf’s proficiency in higher education, media law and regulations as well as her expertise in the legislation of film industry and entertainment, she delivered a keynote speech that engaged the attendees and participants with conceivable means of critical, communicative, and practical perspectives on future academic collaborations within AUC in order to realize the full potential of accomplishing our AUC academic mission. The criterion of her speech resonated precisely with this year ALA Symposium theme: “Embracing Academic Citizenship” by sharing her conscious commitment and passion to teaching and to her students in her pursuance for academic and professional excellence. Her words indicated that becoming an effective professor is not easily acquired and that being an academic expert in ones specialized field does not guarantee efficient teaching, but rather the skills, proficiencies, and practices associated with academic records and scholastic credentials acquired over time, are all essential for quality teaching. Her stimulating ideas emphasized the fact that diversity of disciplines can serve to create richer partnerships, and bring faculty and students together within our AUC community.
The symposium was held at Moataz Al Alfi Hall, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24.
